Creating your first note

A step-by step guide to note taking on LRND.Ai

Updated over 4 months ago

Notes represent a key asset when it comes to developing a knowledge base. For this reason we decided to offer an integrated not pad solution that works in synergy with your tutor.

On LRND.Ai all learning material is organised in modules. This ways user can access and expand their knowledge base in a consistent and structured fashion.

To access the notepad is therefore necessary to create a module in the first place. After that, you'll be able to create as many notes as you wish. For the sake of this guide, let's assume we have already created a module.

On the module dashboard we select the "Notes" tab. Since there are no previous notes you'll find an empty tab with a "Add Note" blue button in the middle.

By clicking on the button you are prompted to add the title. After clicking on the "Create Note" blue button, you can access your first note.

Note taking is a process that requires focus and discipline. With this in mind we decided to design our notepad following a minimalistic style to avoid confusion or distraction. On the other hand we wanted to provide all the tools necessary to work efficiently, boosting your productivity. Let's take a quick tour of the key components.

On the left top corner you see the note title you can quickly edit by clicking on the pen icon.

On the top right corner you find two icons:

  • The firs on the left indicates that you are working on the document ATM. This feature is particularly useful when there are multiple people working on one note at the same time.

  • By clicking on the second icon you can access the version history.

On "Version History" you can access all the iterations of the document and restore the one you prefer by clicking on the "Restore" pink button on the top right corner. To get back onto the pad you just have to use the arrow on the top left corner.

Back to the pad there are other features that deserve some exploration. By clicking on the icon on the bottom right corner you can open the tutor.

Through this chatbot con you can access all the info you need from the material you used to train the module.

By selecting the search option on the drop down menu you can also gather info by searching the web through our conversational search engine.

By clicking on the "History" icon, on the to right corner, (next to the "Close" icone)

you can access the chat history.

On here you can visualise all the chats you had with the module tutor and start a new chat, if need be, by clicking on the "New Chat" button.

When you ask a question to the tutor it will answer with the most revenant info extracted from your knowledge base. If you like the answer and you want to commit it to your note, you just have to click on the copy icon below the generated answer and paste it onto the pad.

If you want to make changes to the typography you just have to press the forward slash ('/') key on you keyboard and the menu will pop up with a set of options.

You can do the same by clicking on the plus icon '+' appearing next to each paragraph.

If you click on the dotted icon you can either delete the corresponding paragraph or change font color.

You can also access the menu bar by highlighting a portion of your text. In this case you can access 2 new features:

  • "Summarisation", which will generate a summary of the highlighted text.

  • "Explanation" that will provide you a better explanation of the highlighted text.

P.S. Please bear in mind those features works only when the highlights text is at least 250 words.

In both cases you can either save the generated output the current note or copy that to your clipboard.

If we go back to the module dashboard we now see that the "Notes" tab has been updated with a "My first note" card with: title, date of creation and name of the creator. By clicking on the dotted icon on the bottom right corner, you can access the pop up menu with the option to delete the card on it.
